Status Orange weather warning issued for Carlow and Kilkenny for Storm Brendan

A status orange weather warning has now been issued for Kilkenny and Carlow and the rest of the country as Storm Brendan approaches.

The storm is expected to make land in Ireland tomorrow morning, with the warning for here coming into effect from 8am.

Gusts of between 100 and 120 kilometres per hour can be expected here, while they could be up to 130kmph along the west coast.
