A study of a Kilkenny halting site has found children there are living in “overcrowded & unacceptable” conditions.
It was commissioned by the board of the Fr McGrath Family Resource Centre and Chairperson Pat Brennan has written to the County manager and the Children and Family services manager for Kilkenny urging them to put an emergency plan in place in response to the findings at St Catherines site in Wetlands.
The report is due to be published in full next week.

He spoke to Sue Nunn this morning and said he believes there is a breach of children’s rights under the human rights convention.
