The temperatures are dropping, but the dry weather looks set to linger for another while.
A 50-year heatwave record was nearly beaten over the weekend, but it fell just under 25 degrees on Saturday.
Things will become a bit cooler this week with more cloud moving in.
Carlow Weathers Alan O’Reilly says it’s not the end of summer yet: “The cloud returning will probably mark a change for most people because that cloud in the north will slowly extend further south through the day.”
