In News …

Locally:  Ten dogs removed from a Myshall puppy farm have now been collected from Limerick Animal Welfare by their new owners.  Six people had to be rescued from the water in July, Carlow had no reported rescues.

Elsewhere:   A majority of German MPs are expected to vote in favour of the third Greek bailout deal.  The children of Jason Corbett have been placed under the guardianship of his sister and her husband.  A guide to assist prospective college students has been published by the Union of Students in Ireland.  Psychiatric nurses at St Ita’s in Dublin have postponed industrial action.  Builders say there are no incentives to get involved in rental accommodation.

John Masterson brings you KCLR Live 10am to 12noon.  Singer songwriter Frances Black will be in studio to chat about her work with RISE and her upcoming gig with Kieran Goss in Kilkenny.  The husband of a woman who attended Cois Nore for therapies joins the discussion on the centre.  We hear about The Glanbia Business Awards.  The weekly Garda Community Assist with Carlow-Kilkenny gardai has the latest on crimes in the locality.  Jimmy Saunders will discuss his new music video shot in local pub Cleere’s.  KilkAlso Walter O’Brien will join John on the show this morning.  Walter, who is the inspiration for the hit US series, Scorpion, will talk about what’s happened since his TV show aired. Walter recently started Scorpion Studios Inc – a broadcast studio and film consultancy in Los Angeles, California.  He has completed a deal with Sony’s Columbia Pictures and will be credited as the technical advisers for the new movie, Spiderman Venom.  Our Sue Nunn first interviewed Walter this time last year – you can hear that interview here Meanwhile this is the original trailer for the TV series:
