The Teachers Union of Ireland branch at IT Carlow say they have concerns that the college will be taken over if a merger happened between it and Waterford IT.
Yesterday Waterford IT decided to suspend all activities relating to the planned merger despite signing an agreement last week to start the process.

The TUI branch has released a statement today saying they have concerns about the plans and that IT Carlow can be developed through more investment rather than diverting focus on to an unnecessary forcing together of two separate institutes.
