Kilkenny County Council’s calling on swimmers to avoid the Thomastown Weir Pool.
They’ve implemented the latest temporary swimming ban “Due to risks associated with the levels of bacteria found” and say swimming in the water may cause illness.
It’s believed to have been caused by recent heavy rainfall and run-off from lands.
Further testing’s to be carried out with the no-swim instruction in place potentiallly for up to a month.
