Cold and wintery showers appear to be on the horizon for the week ahead locally.
That’s according to Carlow Weather’s Alan O’Reilly who says that while there will be some periods of high pressure, the beginning of March may be chilly.
But despite the cold, it seems that today (Monday) locally will be mainly dry and sunny.
The local forecaster’s told KCLR News; “It’s a cold start to the week and there will be a bit of a bitter wind chill as well so feeling cold but mainly dry and sunny today but there may be more rain moving in then, some showers tonight through Tuesday, some more spells of rain passing through on Wednesday, but milder”.
And he adds; “It does look like it’s going to turn colder again from Thursday and it looks like March and the meteorological season of Spring is going to come in like a lion with much cooler temperatures that what we would normally like this time of year, not unusual from March but still going to feel cool and there could even be a few wintry showers through the end of the week, especially on higher ground”.
