A fundraising campaign for a Carlow teenager has broken records.
GoFundme have been in touch with KCLR to say the page set up to raise money for Shauntelle Tynan is officially the largest ever GoFundme campaign in Ireland.
It is also among the top 20 most raised campaigns ever on the platform with nearly 27,000 individual
donors pledging funds. The campaign has been shared a staggering 26,000 times on social media.
People are continuing to donate on the page which was set up to help pay for life-saving cancer treatment for Shan who says they cried tears of happiness when the €500,000 target was passed yesterday.
More than €675,000 has now been pledged. It will all go towards funding specialist treatment for the 18-year-old who travels to Texas again in late March.
