Tributes being paid to one of the founding members of O’Loughlin Gaels GAA club in Kilkenny

Tributes are being paid to one of the founding members of O’Loughlin Gaels GAA club in Kilkenny who has passed away.

Noel Walsh of Assumption Place is being remembered as an avid sports fan with an “encyclopaedic knowledge of the most obscure sporting trivia”.

He’s also being remembered as a hard-worker who spent his working life in Smithwick’s Brewery in the city.

He died on Sunday and friends of his have been expressing their grief at his passing on social media with one saying “John Street and its catchment area has lost a lot of its lustre.”
