Criminals are not welcome in Tullow!
That’s the message that a local development group wants to get out there.
The Develop Tullow Association are calling for CCTV cameras to be installed around the town in an effort to deter crime.
It’s expected to take some time before the relevant authorities, i.e. the local Superintendent and the national Garda CCTV monitoring committee approve the application.
However, Tullow Councillor William Paton says they’re hopeful it will happen and when it does that the cameras will have the desired effect.
The group are hoping to be able to apply for the estimated 30,000 euro needed under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme next year.
