Two local men who took part in national protest walk from Kilkenny to Dublin in 1966 are to be recognised later this week.
Around 30,000 farmers took part in the protest walk from around the country which was organised by the National Farmers Association which is now the IFA.
They were protesting against high rates, low incomes, and the Government’s refusal to either recognise or meet with the NFA.
Robbie Doherty and Dick Cody undertook the protest walk from Kilkenny in 1966 and both will be attending a function at the RDS on Tuesday.
