Carlow County Council have announced two major new initiatives to encourage and support local entrepreneurs in the county.
The two initiatives, Hub Start and Hub Grow, will be held in Station House in Hackettstown, beginning in April, and are the result of a collaboration between Carlow County Council Local Enterprise Office, Wicklow County Council Local Enterprise Office, and SETU.
Hub Start will take place from the 16th of April until the 7th of May, and will focus on helping rural start-ups, while Hub Grow, which runs from the 30th of April until the 11th June, will focus on enterprise growth, leadership and innovation.
Speaking to KCLR News, Head of Economic Development and Enterprise Kieran Comerford had further details.
“So there’s two programmes, the first one is called Hub Start, its for people who have a business idea, its a five-night programme, where basically we talk people through whats involved in starting or developing your own business, and then you get supports from SETU and the local enterprise offices in both Carlow and Wicklow”
Discussing Hub Grow, Comerford noted that “its for people who are existing in business, and the best way to describe Hub Grow is that its an advisory development programme, so we work with a number of facilitators to basically facilitate developing companies over various subjects over a series of six mornings, and then the companies get mentoring with that to help them develop and grow.”
He encouraged local businesspeople to head to www.localenterprise.ie/carlow to find out more.
