Two new nature reserves announced, one of them in north Kilkenny

Kilkenny’s to get a new nature reserve.

The National Parks and Wildlife Services, which owns 78 across the country, has revealed today that it is adding two more – one in Boora, Co Offaly and another spanning 165 acres at Gales Hill, close to Gathabawn.

It’ll be the fifth nature reserve in the county.

Also announced today was the impending expansion of the car park at Ballykeeffe Wood where bike spaces will be added and signage improved.
