A unique commemoration to honour and remember the children of 1916 takes place in Carlow tonight.
Aspiro Choir will perform ‘Remembering a child’ at 8:30pm in the Cathedral on College Street.
90 children, aged 4 to 18 years, alongside members of the choir will remember and reflect in this exclusive performance.
Liam Lawton’s new commission ‘requiem for a child’ will be premiered during the ‘reflecting’ section of the concert.
And excerpts from Joe Duffy’s ‘Children of the rising’ will be narrated throughout the evening.
