The young man stabbed in Castlecomer at the weekend has been named locally as Jamie Hennessy.
The 22-year-old is still in critical condition in St Luke’s Hospital after the stabbing which took place shortly before 7 o’clock in Love Lane on Saturday evening.

Three men were arrested after the incident and were held for questioning overnight.
However, they’ve now been released without charge and a file is being prepared for the DPP.

Mr Hennessy is from Doonane, Crettyard.
