Walk in memory of 4-year-old Kilkenny girl who died of Meningitis

A walk in memory of a local Kilkenny girl who died as a result of Meningitis at the age of 4, is to be held in the city.

Melody Dwyer died in 2008 and her mother Penny, along with the support group, ACT for Meningitis, are organising ‘Walk a Mile for Melody’.

The ‘Annie’-themed event will take place on the 1st of March, starting at 12noon in Millenium Court where you’re being encouraged to come decked out in red wigs and pyjamas.

Speaking to Sue Nunn today, Siobhán Carroll of ACT for Meningitis, says that along with the walk, February will also begin their month of awareness.
