Remembering all those affected by Ireland’s mother and baby homes is the main aim behind a special walk in Thomastown today.
The walk from the Church on Market Street to the former mother and baby home at St Columba’s Hospital first took place last year in light of the Tuam babies story.
It gets underway from 3 o’clock and organiser, Gillian Grattan says all are welcome to join.
There will then be music, poetry and refreshments at 4 o’clock in Tim’s Bar.
Speaking to KCLR News she says last year people also brought little gifts to lay on the grave site in the Shankyard in St Columba’s.
