“I don’t fear the future – we must always meet the future with creativity, optimism and always seeing it as an opportunity”.
So says An Tánaiste Micheál Martin while visiting Carlow.
He began at the Woodford Dolmen Hotel, meeting with representatives of the local business community and has been on a walkabout of Carlow town chatting with others.
In between he took time out to speak on The KCLR Daily about challenges facing many with regards to housing, cost of living as well as third level opportunities locally and more.
He reacted too to the Apple tax ruling, the scoping report into historic sexual abuse and the difficulties facing the independent media sector.
The Tánaiste also touched on his memories of Langton’s Ballroom in Kilkenny – the facility’s weekly nightclub offering has entered ‘hibernation’ with the space to be used for other purposes within the family business.
