“Honoured” and “humbled” is how the Carlow Chamber Business Awards’ Lifetime Achievement recipient’s responded to the accolade.
Michael Doyle‘s a well-known and much regarded businessman whose family’s served the local community in many forms over the years.
Doyle’s Topline, which has bases in Carlow and Tullow, is one of the largest buying groups in the country.
Founded by his great grandfather James Doyle, the original outlet opened in 1884 – the same year that saw the birth of the GAA!
Michael was last week one of three people announced as winners ahead of tomorrow (Thursday) evening’s awards night at Visual.
He told KCLR earlier; “I was absolutely delighted because it was a great honour, first of all I was surprised, it was a great honour because you’re up there with great people like Bobby Quinn, James Keogh, Anthony Dooley, Sean Swan of Swan’s Electrical, great business people, I feel humbled to be in the same league as them, or thought to be in the same league as them”.
Last week we spoke to new Carlow Ambassador Alan O’Reilly and you’ll see the rest of the finalists here
