Kilkenny county council says works on the Central Access Scheme will proceed in accordance with the approval by An Bord Pleanala.
It follows a direction published this week which saw the Board refuse to amend its original approval for the scheme.
In a statement to KCLR today Kilkenny county council says it notes the position of An Bord Pleanala in respect of the Kilkenny Central Access Scheme and the council’s submission which was made last December.
The Board says it will not be amending its approval for the scheme following an application by the local authority to confirm the ‘construction methodologies’ as described in its original submission.
In its decision the Board says that would result in a material alteration of the terms of the development.
What exactly the decision means remains to be seen but the council says that works will proceed for now in accordance with the An Bord Pleanala approval.
