Carlow county council has issued a warning to drivers not to take any unnecessary journeys as heavy rain and high winds leave road conditions dangerous.
Theres reports of bad flooding in South Kilkenny between Knocktopher and Aghaviller Cross and then onto Kilmoganny.
Theres lots of surface water too on the Thomastown to Knocktopher and Ballyhale roads on the Old Waterford Road.
A tree down at Ballytiglea Bridge has now been cleared and Thomastown Gardai say the Graiguenamanagh to Borris Road is clear again now after a tree fell there earlier.
Its the second time this week the region has been battered by heavy rain and wind.
Dan McInerney Director of Services with Carlow county council says it seems the worst is over now but he says driving conditions are very poor around the county.
