A specialist contractor has now been appointed by the GAA to clean up asbestos debris around Nowlan park following yesterdays storm damage
Part of the roof of the Old Stand came away in the high winds and it looks now like the remainder of the roof will have to be fully removed once the area is cleaned and stabilised.
Following a meeting this morning locals were advised not to touch the debris.
In a statement to KCLR news the council says the HSE do not believe airborne asbestos is an issue having regard to wet and damp conditions.
Traffic restrictions around the stadium are still in place this afternoon.
