Close to 100 classic cars are set to move through our locality as part of Retro Cannonball.
The three-day event is part of the stable of annual Cannonball fundraisers which to date have raised over €2.27 million for Irish children’s charities – this year’s proceeds going to Ronald McDonald House Charities Ireland which helps families of sick children.
It gets underway today (Friday) with a lunchtime stop-off at Mount Wolseley Hotel in Tullow, county Carlow – Councillor Ben Ward’s told KCLR News; “It’s going to be fun for the whole community, they’ll be able to come out and see Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Porsches and all the rest but ultimately it’ll all be supporting a charity and I think that’s the most important thing about this, it’s going to be fun”.
