“You should take the gas first, before putting the mask on someone else.”
That’s how Joanne Donohue from Carlow County Partnership has described mental health issues.
She was speaking to KCLR as Mental Health week kicks off across the country – with the Mensana Fest taking centre stage in Carlow.
The week is aimed at highlighting the importance of talking about your mental health, and to remove the stigma associated with it.
It’s estimated that 1 in 4 Irish people experience mental health problems each year.
