11 fixed charge notices were issued by Kilkenny Gardaí to those holding a mobile phone while driving during one afternoon targeting distracted driving.

The operation by the local Roads Policing Union also sought breaches under Grace’s Law of illegal mechanically propelled vehicles with three e-scooter detected – for the latter, the owners will have to apply to the District Court for their return.

Added to that, a repeat no insurance offender had his car impounded.
