A Kilkenny councillor’s hitting out after a number of locals have been left without their new homes for over 18 months.
Respond Approved Housing Body is responsible for the delivery of the units at Nuncio Road.
It had been hoped that those to whom the homes have been allocated would have moved in by now.
Cllr Martin Brett has told KCLR News; “Obviously we’ve had an awful lot of people here in Kilkenny, there’s 22 houses up there to be allocated, we have people asking what, why, where and how this situation’s going to be resolved so I took the step of actually writing to Respond”.
He says his correspondence is; “Asking them for an update on the situation, I’m given to understand that it’s all tied up in legal situations but 18 months, 19 months, is too long for legal situations to be ongoing and it’s not fair to the people to whom these houses have been allocated”.
