After over 20 years, two local restaurants close their doors

After almost 21 years in business, two local restaurants have closed their doors.

Café Sol on William Street in Kilkenny and it’s sister restaurant, Sol Bistro, in Thomastown closed down earlier this week.

In a post on their website, they thanked their customers, suppliers and their staff – saying “it was great while it lasted”.

They went on to say that “not enough people chose to dine in Cafe Sol in Kilkenny or Thomastown often enough to sustain the business”.

The post finishes with a message encouraging people to support small, local restaurants as “you might miss them when they’re gone”.
