Over 25,000 people have contacted the Samaritans over the last 12 months.
The figures come as their new ‘feet on the street’ campaign gets underway across Carlow and Kilkenny on the 2nd of September.

Its aim is to get people talking face-to-face and it will be a bi-weekly initiative.
Louise Clancy is the new local branch director, she told KCLR news that they’re trying to get their name out there and let people know they are here to talk.
