Nurses are warning that the overcrowding crisis in our hospitals is getting worse.

St Luke’s Hospital for Carlow/Kilkenny saw a record 404 people on trolleys in May.

The INMO’s overall Trolley Watch figures for last month show a record-breaking 8,154 patients waiting for beds – which is up almost a quarter on last year.

INMO General Secretary Liam Doran says it’s really disappointing, and it’s not going to improve unless the Government takes action.
