41 arrested as Gardaí target Thomastown district with Operation Storm

More than 40 arrests have been made so far under Operation Storm in the Thomastown District.

80 uniformed Gardaí and plain clothes officers gathered for a briefing in the local station this morning before a number of searches were carried out in the area.

27 students from Templemore were involved along with regional and national units like the Dog unit, Mounted unit and Air Support unit.

Superintendent Ger Egan says not all of the arrests were local – some were as far away as Dublin and Monaghan.

Piltown was the focus of this mornings search operation with 4 premises searched and 3 positive drugs searches carried out over the past 48 hours.
