A Kilkenny mother says she still expects her son to come through the front door every day and cannot come to terms with the fact that she will never see him again.
Pauline Hickey who is from Clara lost her teenage son Hani Abou El Kheir after he was stabbed to death in a frenzied attack in central London in January 2013.
Last week at the Old Bailey 5 men were given life sentences for the murder of the 16 year old.
A statement from his mother Pauline was read to the court – in it she said she “cannot face the truth of Hani’s death” and cannot get over the “devastating image” of her son lying dead in the hospital.
Hani was brought home to Kilkenny for his funeral last March and was laid to rest in Clara.
