Over 50 arrests in Carlow as Operation Storm winds down for another day

After three days of focusing their efforts on Carlow, more than 50 people were arrested by Gardaí by the time Operation Storm came to a finish this evening.

Of the 52 arrested, 24 of those were for crimes including assault, fraud, burglaries and drug dealing with 12 to appear in court over the coming weeks.

Minor seizures of drugs and counterfeit money were also made, while 23 people were arrested on warrants.

Two vehicles were seized for road traffic offences after 42 checkpoints were carried out.

Meanwhile, the Mounted Unit were brought down to visit local children in three primary schools in Tullow.
