Library staff in Carlow and Kilkenny could be balloted for industrial action over proposals to introduce staffless libraries.
Their union, IMPACT, says management plans for a large-scale pilot of after-hours staffless services – including in Bagenalstown and Castlecomer – will lead to completely staffless libraries.
Their South East Official, Shay Clinton says staff locally are hugely concerned.
Speaking to KCLR News today he says a lot stands to be lost if this happens.
