Almost half a million euro in funding has been granted for Carlow Fire Service’s training centre in Hacketstown.
A submission was made for the money just last week.
Construction can now begin on a 400 metre squared changing room and shower facility on the ground floor of the centre, while two training rooms will be fitted out on the first floor.
Over €300,000 euro will go towards the main building, €67,000 towards services, an access road and a hard training yard with the rest going to professional fees.
