There’ll be no time wasted by those involved with the Pan Celtic Festival locally as they’ve already applied to host it again.
This year’s International Festival came to a close on Sunday evening after thousands of people had descended on Carlow Town for the duration of it.
For the next two years the festival is heading Donegal’s way, to be held in Letterkenny but the 2020 location is still up for grabs.
Carlow organiser Bríde de Róiste says Carlow is a very convenient place for a festival like this to be held.
Meanwhile, in the middle of all that, Glór Cheatharlach who organised the Festival locally, also scooped a top gong at the Glór na nGael awards.
They won 1st prize for promotion of the Irish language in a town with a population of over 20,000.
Speaking to KCLR News, Bríde de Róiste says their hosting of the Pan Celtic Festival also got a special mention at the awards ceremony by President Michael D. Higgins.
