There’s some welcome news for those in the Leighlinbridge area this evening as their local Garda station is set to reopen.
It’s been announced that a number of stations around the country that were closed a few years ago will once again be manned by Gardaí.

Leighlinbridge station was closed, along with Ballyragget, Inistioge and Johnstown, back in January 2013.
However, while the other stations were subsequently sold, efforts to see Leighlinbridge’s one were unsuccessful.
Carlow TD Pat Deering says he was given assurances today that it would open but it’s not yet known when it will happen.
