Vigil to be held in Carlow this evening for victim of serious assault

A vigil is to be held at the Liberty tree in Carlow this evening as part of local efforts to highlight a recent serious assault in the town.

Locals are keen to show their support for the woman who remains in hospital after being found unconscious in the grounds of Pollerton Castle on Sunday June 25th.

A man appeared at a special sitting of the court in Carlow at the weekend and was remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court tomorrow.
