First students to take up brewing and distilling course to start in Carlow

The first students ever to embark on a degree course in brewing and distilling will start at IT Carlow tomorrow.

And there’s already an added incentive to study hard in their first year with Carlow’s Walsh Whiskey offering a €1,000 bursary to whoever is top of the class.

Dr David Ryan is programme director for the new course which has been recognised by the prestigious Institute of Brewing and Distilling.

He says they have a mixed group starting out tomorrow.
