More than €20,000 euro worth of drugs seized in Kilkenny City as Operation Storm underway

With at least 18 arrests made, and thousands of euros worth of cocaine seized, Operation Storm is taking place in Kilkenny City.

It got underway on Monday of this week but the majority of the arrests and searches are being carried out today.

140 Gardaí hit the streets at 7am this morning – including 54 trainees from the Garda College and so far the arrests have been for crimes like serious assaults, burglaries and thefts.

Superintendent Derek Hughes told KCLR they’ve seized more than €20,000 euros worth of drugs including cocaine and cannabis.

A taser was also found and seized.
