Elderly man left shaken and with minor injuries following assault and burglary at his County Carlow home

An elderly man was left shaken and with minor injuries following an assault and burglary at his County Carlow home.

Gardaí are investigating the incident which happened at around 8.30pm on Tuesday evening in the Ballinaboley area of Leighlinbridge.

Two men broke into the man’s home through the back door and assaulted him in his bedroom before leaving with personal items.

Sgt John Duffy has this ask; “If anybody was in the area with a car and they saw a car leaving, particularly probably leaving at speed from this area in Ballinaboley in Leighlinbridge, if they could contact the Gardaí in Bagenalstown or in Carlow, that would be great”.
