Emergency services dealing with crash on Castlecomer Kilkenny Road

Update (11:48am, Thursday 23rd Jan): One man and one woman were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and the road has now reopened. 

Update (7:50am, Thursday 23rd Jan): the N78 Castlecomer Kilkenny Road has been closed between Hennebry’s Cross Roundabout and Damerstown.

Significant delays can be expected in the area.

Emergency services have been called to the scene of a crash in County Kilkenny.

It’s happened on the N78 Castlecomer Road at the turn off for the Tower Bridge, Jenkinstown Woods.

Paramedics are at the scene and it’s understood at least one person has sustained injuries.

Gardaí are also attending and ask motorists to avoid the stretch where possible and if not to approach with caution.
