Kilkenny retained its stars and Carlow held onto its Bib Gourmand in last night’s Michelin update.
Ballyfin Demesne in neighbouring County Laois and Kildare’s The Morrison Room as well as Lignum in County Galway were each awarded their first Stars, the only Irish additions at that level to the list which also covers the UK.
While Baba’de in Cork, daróg in Galway and mrDeanes in Belfast are also celebrating after getting a Michelin Bib Gourmand, which recognises ‘good quality and value’ – Sha-Roe Bistro in Clonegal secured its in 2008.
Campagne in Kilkenny city and the Lady Helen at Mount Juliet Estate Hotel in Thomastown continue to twinkle at the top, both first awarded Stars in 2013.
