Muckalee’s Laura Greene says the home crowd played a huge role in their AIB All-Ireland Junior Ladies Football semi-final victory yesterday.
The Kilkenny and Leinster champions were 3-6 to 1-4 winners over Menlough Skehana in front of a strong local following in Muckalee, securing their place in the All-Ireland decider.
Speaking to KCLR’s Paul Jenkins after the game, Greene said the backing from supporters was a major factor in the performance.
“Oh, it’s a massive boost… the crowds we had, the support we have all year, unbelievable. We knew we’d get a good crowd — it’s like having an extra player on the pitch, everyone was boosting you on,” she said.
Looking ahead, Greene added that she’ll be ready for the final: “I’ll be ready to go again in two weeks, so I’ll just rest up till then — be grand.”
