Carlow sprinter Marcus Lawler was among the standout names at the 123.ie National Athletics Ireland Awards Banquet.
Lalwer and his teammates were recognised for a record-breaking year on the international stage.
Lawler—Carlow’s own Olympian—played a central role in the Men’s 4x100m relay team, who were crowned Team of the Year after a remarkable 2024 season that saw them break the Irish national record twice in the space of a week.
The relay squad of Michael Farrelly, Sean Aigboboh, Marcus Lawler, Israel Olatunde, and Bori Akinola delivered one of the most memorable performances in recent Irish sprinting history at the European Team Championships, where they clocked an exceptional 38.88 seconds.
That time shattered the previous Irish record, a mark that had stood all the way back to the Sydney Olympics.
