Carlow forward Colm Hulton says he’s thoroughly enjoying life back in the county set-up after returning to the panel for the 2026 season.
The Éire Óg attacker sat out last year but has made an immediate impact since his return, scoring 2-5 across his last two outings as Carlow continue their strong start to the campaign.
Speaking to the KCLR Sport Podcast after Carlow’s win over Laois in Rathvilly on Saturday, Hulton explained why stepping away proved beneficial and why he’s delighted to be back involved.
“I’m really enjoying it this year. There’s a great group of lads there,” he said. “There’s a great background team there, we’re all buying into it. It’s great craic.
“I took a year out last year, just totally took it off and went back to club. It’s no harm taking a year out, it probably did me the world of good. But I’m absolutely loving being back in with the county and the lads.”
Carlow are back in action this Friday night when they take on Wicklow in the O’Byrne Shield Final.
Throw-in is at 7.30pm at SETU Carlow.
