Emmett Moran says there’s great competition for places in the Carlow squad.

The Fighting Cocks player has enjoyed a positive few months reaching a Leinster Final with his club and featuring for his county as they won the O’Byrne Shield.

Carlow open their Allianz League division 4 campaign away to Antrim this Sunday and that’s a game you can hear live on KCLR.

Moran says the competition for places in the squad is important.

“It was one thing I noticed with my own club this year, there was competition for places. It was the exact same with the intercounty scene.”

“Even though we are all working towards the one collective goal, you need to have the competition for places to push you on to become best version of yourself.”
