Paul O’Brien’s star shone brightly albeit humbly on both sides of the River Suir – but for far too short a time. The South Kilkenny native, who died on January 14th aged 48, is survived by wife Louise and their children Alice, Aoife, Jade and Holly.
A fundraising concert for Paul’s family, which will celebrate his rich life in music and the arts, will be held at Waterford’s Tower Hotel on Friday week, May 22nd.
“Paul meant something special to everyone who knew him,” said his good friend Roy Collins. “A loving husband, a devoted father, a cherished son and brother, a loyal friend, a warm and welcoming colleague, a gifted musician, and simply an all‑round good guy. His gentle nature and genuine smile touched countless lives…
“Paul was a devoted husband to Louise and a proud father to Alice, Aoife, Jade, and Holly. His family was everything to him, and he dedicated his life to their happiness. Now, in the face of this heart-breaking loss, we have the opportunity to stand beside them — just as Paul would have done for anyone he cared about.”
