The HSE is urging people to avoid alcohol completely during pregnancy as part of a new awareness campaign.
It warns that no amount of alcohol is safe during pregnancy and highlights the serious risks to a baby’s development.
The campaign comes as Ireland is estimated to have one of the highest rates of prenatal alcohol exposure in the world, as well as the third highest rate of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.
