Two local municipal district AGMs down and so far it’s an all Fianna Fáil affair.
Each June the councillors of our seven electoral areas across Carlow and Kilkenny at their respective meetings decide who will be their Chair and Deputy for the year ahead.
Yesterday we outlined how the Piltown crew decided that Ger Frisby & Jenny Catt Slattery would the reins as Cathaoirleach & Leas Cathaoirleach respectively.
Shortly after their Callan Thomastown colleagues named Deirdre Cullen and Joe Sheridan in the top roles there.
Cllr. Cullen is delighted to be in the position but told KCLR News; “We have a hell of a lot of work to be getting on with now for the year with approximitely €6million that will be spent on our roads programme over the next 12months, there are some big projects of course we’re looking primarily in particular at the Callan Bypass so that funding is in the region of €2.7million”.
Stay tuned for more as our Dermot Keyes was at both meetings.
