Kilkenny Rose Rachel Walsh has presented a Little Blue Heroes uniform to the charity’s newest member in Kilkenny.
Garda Lisa Mullins says the initiative supports children facing serious challenges, with ten children currently involved in the programme locally.
The Gardaí organise activities throughout the year, including Emergency Services Day, holiday events, with a mini-graduation planned for November.
The programme aims to bring a smile to children and their families during difficult times.
Garda Mullins told KCLR News getting his uniform made Luca’s day. “Luca loves the Gardaí, and he was nominated to come into the charity. So, we were glad that he came in, and he was so interested in the Gardaí.”
“All he wanted to see was the Garda car. You know, it was a bonus to see when the girls came in were wearing the blue dress he’s just beaming, and just to put the uniform on and see the little badge, he was just so excited.”
